SWA focuses on four specialist areas;
Art – Exhibitions contain work from artists across Wales and include photography, painting, sculpture and more. The exhibitions are curated by The Big Fuss, a Welsh arts initiative that works with local artists, helping to give them guidance and opportunities to show their art.
Spoken Word - SWA provides a stage for all forms of spoken performance from a diverse array of artists. Previous performers include Mab Jones and art-forms featured vary from poetry to short stories, comedy and plays.
Music – Unsigned musicians are given a platform to perform at SWA, sharing their music with a wider audience. Previous artists include Blue Gillespie and Pun Ra, and styles vary from folk to soul, hiphop, metal and everything inbetween.
Film – SWA shows the diversity of films, talent and ideas associated with Wales. Exhibiting film-makers don’t need to be Welsh to take part, but there is always a strong link to Wales past, present or future in the work.
